Fast Company Recognizes Sharebite as a “Best Workplace for Innovators”

Fast Co recognizes Sharebite as an innovator

At Sharebite, we’ve always believed curiosity, drive, and belonging are critical ingredients for creating innovation — and we’ve been meticulous about building our culture around them.

Today, Fast Company recognized Sharebite as one of the “Best Workplaces for Innovators,” the type of workplace where employees can shape their own careers and the world. Even better, it’s the second year in a row we’ve won this recognition — showing that innovation is built into our company and culture’s DNA.

The timing couldn’t be more appropriate: today is Hunger Action Day, an annual call to action against America’s food insecurity crisis organized by our partners at Feeding America as part of their broader Hunger Action Month. It perfectly embodies what we’re building at Sharebite, and reminds us why innovation in this space matters now more than ever.

Too often, food insecurity is dismissed as a fringe issue—but its effects are everywhere, especially in the workplace.  Each year, food insecurity costs the U.S. economy $1.1 trillion in healthcare costs and lost productivity annually.

Hunger has private sector implications; it deserves enterprise solutions.

At Sharebite, we’re laser-focused on doing just that with our mission to get every worker in America fed. It’s an ambitious mission, and one that requires each and every one of our team members to put their best foot forward to achieve, every day.

Through flexible meal benefits that offer companies measurable returns on productivity, retention, and employee engagement, our platform creates a multiplier effect across the clients we serve and the communities we operate in. As usage grows, adoption spreads, and client companies thrive, we’re able to increase the meals we donate to surrounding communities.

But this isn’t hypothetical — it really works. Over 15 million meal donations later and hundreds of happy customers later, we've proven that fighting hunger and running a successful business aren't competing priorities. They're inextricably linked.

15 million is certainly a number worth celebrating. But the number that keeps us focused is 47 million—the number of Americans facing chronic food insecurity. In that context, 15 million isn't a victory lap. It's proof of concept. And a good start that our workplaces of innovators will continue to expand on.

We’re incredibly proud of everything the Sharebite team has built — not just because we’ve built up a technology suite that’s unmatched by anything else on the market, but because that technology underpins a movement to eradicate hunger in the United States. We’re honored to have had our efforts recognized by Fast Company for the second year running, but our work is just beginning.

Our team will continue to show up day after day to push the boundaries on the technology that cultivates more productive companies, happier teams, and thriving local communities—scaling the solution to America's hunger crisis by way of its workforce.
